We are still doing ministry here at REAP in Nicaragua. We have been able to meet some sweet people and hear some amazing stories. I feel like the past week and a half have been marked by joy. One of my favorite ministries is VBS on Wednesdays! We play with the kids, do a Bible lesson, and serve them lunch. I also still love working on the farm at REAP and doing manual labor. It is so fun to work alongside friends and sweat together and see progress.

This past Monday, I had the opportunity to help lead a women’s Bible Study at REAP for the women who work here. I decided to do a Scripture meditation activity in Psalm 139. I read the psalm twice in Spanish and despite my horrible pronunciation, The Lord used the passage to speak to the women here. Two of the women had just been reading Psalm 139 the night before as they were walking through some challenges. It was so sweet to witness the Lord’s timing in that. It was an honor to sit in a circle with them and hear how the Lord spoke to them.

We have also had really fun adventure days the past two Sunday’s and have been soaking up all the beauty that is here in Nicaragua. I am really thankful for the intricacy in God’s creation and the ability to experience that with sweet friends. I often find myself sitting in the back of the truck just looking around and smiling, appreciating the beauty around me, and feeling extremely thankful for where I am right now.

When I am feeling discouraged, I remember the joy of the Lord. The joy of my salvation. The joy that overflows in the people here. The joy in laboring together for the kingdom. The joy in the children we get to spend time with. The joy of experiencing the Lord’s timing. The joy of walking in obedience. The joy of the Lord is my strength.

We finish ministry in Nicaragua on Friday, debrief here for a few days, and then head to Costa Rica. We are about halfway through now, which is crazy to think. It has been really challenging, but also really growing. I am excited for what is so come. Thank you so much for the continued prayers!

All for His glory,

Madi Taylor
