In our last couple weeks in Costa Rica, we have continued doing manual labor at the Dorcas house for women and children and we have done a lot of prayer walking and evangelism. It has been really cool to see people desire to have a relationship with Jesus. Most people know of Jesus, but don’t have relationship with him or have a wrong understanding of who Jesus is. The Lord has softened their hearts and we got to plant seeds.

On Saturday, we got to be apart of the inauguration for the Dorcas house. Now, the house is ready for recovering addicts and their children to live there and experience the love of Jesus. It was a beautiful celebration and it was really cool to put in so many hours of work and then get to witness its opening. This was a sweet way to end our time in Costa Rica.

I am currently heading back to the States for debrief. These past couple months have been a wild ride. I have made some of the sweetest friends, been able to meet and serve some amazing people, done a lot of manual labor, tried new foods and most importantly, my team and I got to share Jesus and bring hope to people in Nicaragua and Costa Rica. I pray that all that we did has pointed people to Jesus and only glorified His name. The Lord has done so much in my heart and in those around me during these past couple months.

I am reminded of Psalm 8 on the way home. I have seen the Lord’s majesty, His beautiful creation and the work of His hands. What is man that He is mindful of us? That he has set us a little lower than the heavenly beings and crowned us with glory and honor. He delights in us. I remember our blessed smallness and the beauty of the tasks that He has given us. To love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength. To love neighbor as yourself. To know God and make Him known. To create culture and have dominion. To make disciples. These things remain no matter where we are. The mission continues as I head home.

I am so grateful for this experience. It is truly something I will never forget. I had the opportunity to serve and love people, worship along side friends in spanish and english, experience deep community, and struggle and be stretched and be uncomfortable. All for His namesake. Thank you so much for supporting me financially and  through prayers. It means so much to me and I was always encouraged when I remembered my supporters at home. People in Nicaragua and Costa Rica were encouraged and pointed to Christ. Many came to Him for the first time. The center for women and children was able to open yesterday. What a privilege that the Lord allows us to be apart of His work here on earth. Thank you for being a part of this ministry.

I am reading Hebrews 13 as we are flying home and it has never rang more true in my life. I pray that brotherly love continues, that I do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, that I am content with what I have, that I remember that He will never leave me nor forsake me, and that I will not neglect to do good and share what I have.

I pray the same for you.

Thank you to our Great Shepherd who equips us with everything good that we may do His will.

And thank you again for your love and support.

All for his glory,

Madi Taylor

Just when I think your blogs can’t get any more powerful, you send another one that lets me know how much this latest mission has blessed you and what a blessing you have been to your mission team and to Nicaragua and Costa Rico.
